A one-day seminar titled *"Climate Change Is a Reality – Act Before It's Too Late”* was held at Karakoram International University. The event aimed to raise awareness among youth about the growing threats posed by climate change. It was organized jointly by the Youth Empowerment Club and the Office of the Provost.Speaking as the chief guest, Provost Dr. Qamar Abbas stated, *"We are living in an era where climate change is no longer just a scientific fact—it has become a part of our daily lives. Rising temperatures, melting glaciers, droughts, and untimely rains are constant warnings that mere discussions are no longer enough; concrete action is now unavoidable."*He urged students not to limit environmental issues to academic discussions alone but to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles in their everyday lives. Dr. Abbas further emphasized that the mission of Karakoram University is not just to impart knowledge but to prepare youth who can play a positive role in society.Earlier, Dr. Muhammad Jehan, Regional Manager of HHRD Gilgit, and YEC Focal Person Mubashir Alam also addressed the seminar, educating students about climate change and its impacts. The event saw participation from a large number of university faculty members, researchers, and students. A special panel discussion was also held, in which Dr. Arshad Shehdai, Lecturer Nabeel Ahmad, and student Sajjad shared their views on important topics such as environmental pollution, global warming, and sustainable development. At the conclusion of the seminar, honorary shields and certificates were distributed among the organizers, distinguished guests, and speakers.
