A spiritually enriching interdepartmental Naat and Qiraat competition was held at Karakoram International University (KIU), bringing together students, faculty, and administrative members in a heartfelt display of Quranic recitation and Naat recitals. According to KIU’s Public Relations Department, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students showcasing their talents in Qiraat (Quranic recitation) and Naat. Their melodious voices and heartfelt performances created an atmosphere of deep spiritual devotion. The event was organized by the KIU Provost Office, in collaboration with Young Peace and Development Corps (YPDC), the Arts and Dramatics Society, and the Youth Empowerment Club (YEC). A panel of expert judges evaluated the performances and announced the winners. Qiraat Competition Winners: First Place: Qari Hafiz Muhammad (Department of English) Second Place: Rahmatullah (Department of Plant Sciences) Third Place: Musharraf Ali (Department of Computer Sciences) Naat Competition Winners: First Place: Maisam Alam (Department of International Relations) Second Place: Amir Hussain (Department of Computer Sciences) Third Place: Almdar Hussain (Department of Economics) Speaking at the event, Associate Dean Dr. Zaigham Ali, Director of Academics Dr. Sajjad Ali, and Provost Dr. Qamar Abbas appreciated the organizers, participants, and attendees. They emphasized that such events not only allow students to showcase their talents but also strengthen their spiritual and cultural connection. The speakers encouraged the continuation of such programs in the future, helping students stay connected to their traditions while refining their artistic and spiritual skills. The competition concluded with the distribution of certificates and prizes to the top performers.
